"I paint THEM AS THEY ARE, SO THEY WILL ALWAYS BE SEEN, RECOGNIZED AND REMEMBERED"

Hey, I'm Marianna!

I'm a passionate painter inspired by the depth and beauty of the human experience. I’m especially drawn to capturing people — their stories, emotions, and energy — blending realism with abstract touches that let the visible and invisible meet on the canvas.

I love using bold, vibrant colors and strong contrasts. Light and shadow are essential in my work, adding emotion and depth to every piece. Texture is also part of my visual language — I want you to feel my paintings, not just look at them.

Each brushstroke is a journey into thought, feeling, and spirit. Through my art, I explore what makes us human — the strength in vulnerability, the beauty in imperfection, and the power of connection.

Step into my world, where colors speak louder than words and the soul comes to life on canvas.

Let's talk

My Artist's Journey

Moments that shaped the vision behind the brush.

Mexico City

Childhood

Born and raised in Mexico City, I discovered my passion for art early on, inspired by my mother - a painter and teacher.

Watching her work sparked my love for color, texture and oil painting.

A creative upbringing

Early youth

Surrounded by artists, nurses and engineers, I grew up with a broad view of life.

I embrace both logic and creativity, excelling in math while nurturing my artistic drive.

A new beginning

1985

At 18, I moved from Mexico to Texas with my mother - an exciting adventure that changed my life;  though I later realized I left a part of my heart behind.

Life in Texas

Sometime later

I settled in Waco, met my husband David -a handsome Brith with a great accent-, and began building a life and career in tech.

Family & Career

1995

We moved to Dallas with our son, Alan. I built a career as a software developer while my painting quietly faded into the background.

Reconnecting with Art

2017

After years away from art, I took watercolor classes with Linda Kingsley in McKinney, TX and fell in love with the freedom of the medium. That spark led me back to painting.

Exploring new mediums

2017+

Watercolors opened the door to acrylics and mixed media. I began experimenting with texture, movement, and abstraction.

LAST Art Gallery

2023

I joined LAST Art Gallery in McKinney—a community of 50 artists. My current work blends realism, abstraction, and emotion to honor real people and their stories.

Just now

2025+

I paint people as they truly are—so they can always be seen, understood, and remembered.
